A qualitative instrument for what cannot be seen

The Shadow Profile is different from the other instruments in the suite. It does not produce scores. It produces a qualitative report, generated by AI from your free-text responses, that attempts to name what may be operating in your shadow — the aspects of yourself you cannot yet see clearly, or cannot yet own.

The shadow is not a character flaw. It is everything the person cannot yet hold — including positive qualities. What we cannot tolerate in others is usually alive in ourselves. What we have given up to function in our roles often holds more of us than our conscious identity does.

The profile is designed exclusively for facilitated use. It should not be self-interpreted. Its value depends entirely on what happens in the conversation that follows.

The questions

What you are asked

Ten open questions, each approaching the shadow from a different angle. You write freely — there are no right answers and no required length. The quality of the report depends on the quality of your engagement.

Q1
What you cannot tolerate
What you find difficult to bear in others — and what that reveals about what may be alive in you.
Q2
Who you admire but cannot be
The person you hold up — and what it would mean to allow yourself to be more like them.
Q3
What you have set aside
Who you were before you became who you are now — and what you left behind.
Q4
What you have never said
Something true about yourself that has not been spoken aloud.
Q5
What you judge intensely
Where your judgment is strong — and what it points toward.
Q6
Your strengths and their shadow
The other side of your most known qualities.
Q7
What envy points toward
The positive shadow — unclaimed potential.
Q8
What you want but cannot want openly
Something you desire that you have not given yourself permission to want.
Q9
Who you would be without constraints
The version of yourself that the role, organisation, or identity has made unavailable.
Q10
Your response to your responses
What you notice in looking back at what you have written.
The report

What you receive

An AI-generated qualitative report, emailed to you after submission. It is written with clinical precision — naming what appears to be operating in the shadow, opening material for the facilitated session rather than concluding it. The report goes only to you and your facilitator.
